The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary companies have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the purchase of two Aframax tankers, strengthening Pakistan’s national fleet capacity.
According to a disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) under Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015 and Clause 5.6.1(a) of the PSX Rule Book, the vessels—named LORAX (109,990 DWT) and NAFSIKA (112,051 DWT)—will be acquired by Karachi Shipping (Pvt.) Ltd. and Lahore Shipping (Pvt.) Ltd., respectively.
PNSC said the acquisition is aimed at expanding the corporation’s operational capacity and enhancing its competitiveness in international shipping markets. – ER News Desk
