By the end of this month, at least 27 electric buses are expected to begin operations in Lahore, following a meeting led by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.
The meeting, which included Chairman of Planning and Development Nabeel Ahmed Awan, Secretary Asif Tufail, and representatives from various ministries, focused on the performance, ongoing projects, and future plans of 27 government departments. These departments included transport, environment, wildlife protection, labor, and social welfare.

Notable decisions from the meeting included a significant increase in the minority development fund and progress on restoring historic churches, as directed by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Additionally, the launch of 620 eco-friendly buses across major cities in Punjab was prioritized.
The meeting also highlighted important developments, such as the expected completion of 15 smart police stations by February 19, and rapid progress on the upgrades at Jhang Veterinary College and Cholistan Veterinary University. To support these initiatives, an additional Rs42 million was approved for the Kala Shah Kaku Judicial Academy, and there was discussion about allocating Rs500 million for developing 261 tonnes of iron reserves.
