Thatta Cement Commissions 4.8 MW Wind Power Project

In a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company stated:

“We are pleased to announce the completion and commissioning of our 4.8 MW wind power project at our Thatta plant. This marks a significant milestone for the company, as the project was completed ahead of schedule and began operations on April 3, 2025.”

With this addition, Thatta Cement’s total renewable energy capacity now stands at 9.8 MW, comprising a 4.8 MW wind power plant and a 5 MW solar installation.

The company emphasized that this expansion reinforces its commitment to sustainable environmental practices. It also highlighted that continued investment in renewable energy not only reduces operational costs but also plays a key role in minimizing the country’s dependence on fossil fuels. – ER
