The first spell of snowfall in the Gilgit-Baltistan region has brought a cold and frosty wave across the northern areas.
Diamer and Chilas districts have been covered in a white blanket of snow, while Kaghan Valley in Mansehra also witnessed the season’s first snowfall, causing temperatures to drop significantly.
According to reports, Babusar Top has received around six inches of snow so far, while Saif-ul-Malook Lake, Batta Kundi, Jelkhad, Besar, Koh-e-Safaid, and Noori Top have also experienced snowfall.
Kalam Valley has similarly seen its first snowfall of the winter, leading to a drastic fall in temperatures.
Babusar Top and Babusar Pass, located at an altitude of about 13,700 feet, typically remain closed from November to June each year due to heavy snow. The scenic location remains a popular tourist attraction for those visiting Gilgit-Baltistan to enjoy its cold weather and breathtaking views. – ER News Desk
