In a landmark achievement for Pakistan’s automotive industry, Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Ltd. (HACPL) has officially commenced its first-ever export of completely built-up (CBU) units, marking a significant step toward international market expansion.
The celebratory ceremony, held at the HACPL premises, was attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. The event also saw the presence of key government and industry stakeholders, including Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and Production, Saif Anjum, and CEO of the Engineering Development Board, Khuda Baksh Ali.
As part of this historic milestone, HACPL successfully dispatched its inaugural batch of 40 Honda CITY 1.2L units to Japan, reinforcing its commitment to world-class quality, reliability, and innovation. This achievement lays the foundation for future export ventures into diverse global markets.
During his visit to the HACPL plant, SAPM Haroon Akhtar Khan commended the company’s advanced manufacturing facility, stringent quality standards, and its role in bolstering local manufacturing and exports—aligning with the government’s vision for economic growth.
The event also featured remarks from Aamir H. Shirazi, who highlighted the government’s support in fostering a business-friendly environment, while Takafumi Koike emphasized Honda’s global legacy of innovation. A symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official launch of HACPL’s export journey, followed by a tree plantation activity, underscoring the company’s commitment to sustainability.
Speaking at the occasion, SAPM Haroon Akhtar Khan lauded Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan for its resilience and dedication to expanding the reach of Pakistani-built vehicles beyond domestic borders. He stated that this milestone reflects Pakistan’s growing potential to compete in the global automotive market.
Highlighting the government’s vision for export-led industrial growth, Haroon Akhtar Khan stressed the need for close coordination between the public and private sectors. He reiterated Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s vision of fostering an export-driven and sustainable industrial ecosystem, assuring that the government remains committed to supporting the automotive sector through favorable policy reforms and infrastructure development.
Encouraging local manufacturers to explore emerging opportunities in international markets, the SAPM expressed confidence in Pakistan’s ability to become a regional hub for automotive production and exports.
