Kot Addu Power Company Limited (KAPCO) has announced that the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has granted approval for the signing of a Tri-Partite Power Purchase Agreement (TPPA).
The agreement involves the Central Power Purchasing Agency (Guarantee) Limited (CPPA-G), KAPCO, and the National Grid Company of Pakistan.
This approval, detailed in NEPRA’s letter dated May 19, 2025, outlines conditions to be fulfilled prior to finalization. These include conducting an Initial Capacity Test (ICT) and a Heat Rate Test (HRT), which will be evaluated by an Independent Engineer to determine the Simple Cycle Efficiency and Heat Rate figures. These results are to be submitted to NEPRA, after which the TPPA will become effective for plant operations.
