MariEnergies announced on Monday that a second significant gas and condensate discovery at the Spinwam-1 exploration well, located in the Waziristan Block, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The information share with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) said the new discovery was made in the Kawagarh Formation, following the initial discovery of gas and condensate in the Samanasuk Formation, reported earlier this year.
The well has demonstrated impressive results, flowing 20.485 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas and approximately 117 barrels per day (bbl/day) of condensate, at a choke size of 32/64 inches. The wellhead flowing pressure (WHFP) was recorded at 3,431 psi, marking another successful step forward for the exploration project.
MariEnergies, as the operator of the Waziristan Block, holds a 55% working interest, with joint venture partners Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Orient Petroleum Inc. holding 35% and 10% working interests, respectively. Additional testing of other targeted formations is currently underway to further assess the well’s full potential.
This new discovery marks another milestone in the development of the Waziristan Block, showcasing the potential of the area for future gas and condensate production. — ER
