Wasif suggests we should learn from expos in Dubai. We should give knowledge to the people who visit the event so that when they leave they must take knowledge with them not only brochure etc.

Orient Security Systems believes security cannot be ensured without a theme which it’s stalwart, Wasif Laeeq found missing in the expo. The market response does not match with the security requirement in the country, he says.

The people normally think they would ensure security with merely installing CCTV. It is not true, as just installing a gadget does not provide you security. You need education on security. Thus, there must be courses, rather a degree course on security, he suggested.

Do such events help in covering the security market? They are important but must be improved. For instance, the conference organized in the expo should have been more professional and more experts had been here.

Among the galaxy of exhibitors at Fire & Safety Asia, Haseen Habib Corporation (HHC) claimed to be the only manufacturer in the show. Zafar Malik, Sales Manager of the company launched in 1965 told Engineering Review that almost all companies participating in the expo had exhibited imported products. However, HHC had an edge to participate in the show with its own products manufactured in Pakistan.

HHC is proud to launch a mini fire tender working on a stored pressure required for an efficient tender. Ready to use, it gives a throw up to 70 feet, Zafar claims. This tender was properly set for exhibition on HHC’s stall in the exhibition. “Our locally fabricated products have attracted the attention of the visitors and also our customers are taking keen interest in our products”, he said.

Over sixty per cent of HHC’s visitors in the expo have invited the company for the survey.

Interestingly enough, in today’s business when most of the companies are importing Chinese products and earning easy benefits, how HHC has managed to maintain local product market is a huge challenge. How is it possible? Yes, it is a challenge, admits Zafar. Since HHC follows the guidelines of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), its products are like accredited and are credible.

Chinese products are cheaper and we don’t go for such comparison. For instance, 1 kg Chinese cylinder is disposable. However, ours is reusable and successfully in use.

The camera cannot apprehend criminals; it indicates loopholes which are to be plugged in so that the crime comes down in the society, says Syed Aurangzeb of Surveillance Security Systems, a company working for over one and a half decade.

This works through a database which provides you information about suspects anywhere where the system is installed. This database, he says uses 90 per cent less resources than SQL system. It is fast, based on Delphi language and gives you real-time video.

Aurangzeb was happy to be in the expo because his company obtained expected response from the visitors.
