PEC, CDA Join Hands to Elevate Engineering Standards in Mega Projects

The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) have agreed to reinforce engineering standards across major development projects, placing Project Director (PD) Certification and young engineers’ training under the Graduate Engineers Trainee (GET) Placement Program at the forefront.

The understanding was reached during a high-level meeting between PEC Chairman Engr. Waseem Nazir and CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa. Member Engineering Engr. Nafasat Raza and other senior officials were also in attendance.

As part of the collaboration, engineers engaged in CDA’s mega projects will undergo PD Certification to promote transparency, improve governance, and enhance project quality in line with international best practices. The first batch of the certification program is set to begin in March.

At the same time, 100 graduate engineers will receive practical, on-site training through CDA’s GET Placement Program, gaining hands-on exposure to large-scale projects—an important step in building a skilled, competent, and future-ready engineering workforce.

The initiative underscores a shared commitment by PEC and CDA to capacity building, professional excellence, and sustainable infrastructure development. – ERMD
