The 8th PLUGIN Project and Poster Competition 2026 was successfully held at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology (QUEST), Nawabshah.
The event was organized by the IEEEP Local Centre Nawabshah, bringing together a vibrant gathering of students, academicians, and professionals from across the region.
Students from various universities and academic departments actively participated in multiple STEM-based categories, including Mega Projects, Mini Projects, and Technical Poster Competitions.
The event served as a dynamic platform for young engineers to present innovative ideas and practical solutions addressing contemporary technological challenges.
The ceremony was graced by the Vice Chancellor of QUEST, Prof. Dr. Saleem Raza Samo, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished attendees included Prof. Dr. Kishan Chand Makwana, along with deans and senior faculty members: Prof. Abdul Fattah Chandio (Dean, Faculty of Electrical & Electronics Engineering), Prof. Abdul Sattar Jamali (Dean, Technology), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Channa, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ramzan Luhur, Prof. Dr. Intasab Hussain Sadhayo, and Prof. Dr. Dadan Khan Bhangwar. Faculty members from QUEST and other universities attended the event.
Participants were evaluated by expert panels, and outstanding projects were recognized with cash prizes, medals, and shields, celebrating excellence, innovation, and technical creativity among students.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Saleem Raza Samo appreciated the efforts of the organizers and participants, stating that such events are essential for promoting research culture, innovation, and practical learning among students. He emphasized that engineering education must focus on solving real-world problems and preparing students for future technological challenges.
The event was led by the Chief Organizer, Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar Saand, who also serves as Chairman of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Chair IEEEP Local Centre Nawabshah. In his remarks, he highlighted that PLUGIN has evolved into a flagship platform for nurturing young engineers, fostering collaboration, and showcasing innovative solutions aligned with sustainable development goals. He further stated that the competition reflects QUEST’s commitment to academic excellence, industry engagement, and technological advancement.
Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kishan Chand Makwana also praised the initiative, noting that such academic activities play a crucial role in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation, and encouraging students to think critically and innovatively.
The 8th PLUGIN 2026 concluded with the distribution of awards to the winning teams, marking another milestone in promoting engineering innovation and student engagement at QUEST Nawabshah. – PR
