
Pakistan and Türkiye have agreed to deepen cooperation in the maritime and transport sectors to enhance trade, connectivity and economic growth.
The understanding was reached during a meeting in Istanbul between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, and Türkiye’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.
The two ministers reviewed ongoing bilateral cooperation and discussed ways to strengthen collaboration in maritime affairs, transport infrastructure and logistics. They underscored the importance of closer coordination to boost economic ties between the two countries.
Both sides agreed to promote the development of modern maritime infrastructure and transport systems to facilitate trade, improve regional connectivity and support long-term economic development.
The ministers also explored opportunities for sustainable development and discussed avenues to encourage mutual investment in the maritime and transport sectors. They expressed confidence that enhanced cooperation would further strengthen the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye while contributing to regional prosperity.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation across strategic sectors and further enhancing economic and commercial relations.-ERMD
