Indus Motor Honours Young Artists at Toyota Dream Car Art Contest Finale

One of the world’s largest art competitions for children aged 15 and under, the contest encourages young participants to envision the future through art. This year’s edition attracted a record 29,535 entries from across the country, with participation from 1,408 schools, including 638 government and underprivileged institutions. After a rigorous evaluation process, 488 artworks were shortlisted for final judging.

The event honoured 27 regional winners, while nine outstanding young artists were named National Winners and will represent Pakistan at the global Toyota Dream Car Art Contest finals in Japan. In addition, three entries each received the Jury Choice Award, the “Waku Doki” (heart-pumping excitement) Award selected by IMC engineers, the newly introduced Vice Chairman Choice Award, and the CEO Choice Award.

The Vice Chairman Choice Award, introduced this year, recognised three artworks personally selected by IMC Vice Chairman Shinji Yanagi for their originality and creativity. The CEO Choice Award was presented by IMC Chief Executive Officer Ali Asghar Jamali. Winners were selected by a jury comprising faculty members from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, ensuring a transparent and merit-based evaluation process.

Speaking at the ceremony, Jamali said the contest had become more than an art competition, serving as a platform to inspire innovation and celebrate the potential of Pakistan’s youth. He noted that the record participation, particularly from government and underprivileged schools, reflected IMC’s commitment to encouraging children from all backgrounds to dream big.

Yanagi said every artwork reflected a unique story and the boundless imagination of young minds, adding that the newly introduced award was aimed at recognising entries that stood out for their originality, emotion and creative vision. – ERMD
