
Altern Energy Limited has announced the termination of several key agreements with the Government of Pakistan and power sector entities, according to a disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
In a notice of material information, the company stated that it signed a Termination Agreement on April 30, 2026, with the Government of Pakistan (GoP) and Central Power Purchasing Agency Guarantee Limited. As a result, the Implementation Agreement, sovereign guarantee, and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) executed with CPPA-G stand terminated.
Additionally, Altern Energy Limited confirmed that it has also entered into a separate termination agreement with Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, leading to the cancellation of the Gas Supply Agreement between the two parties.
The company conveyed that the disclosure was made in compliance with relevant provisions of the Securities Act, 2015, and PSX regulations.
The development marks a significant step in the restructuring of the company’s contractual arrangements within Pakistan’s power sector. – ER News Desk
