Mohammad Akram Sheikh Chairman United Wire Industries
With profound sorrow, we remember Mr. Mohammad Akram Sheikh, Chairman of United Wire Industries (Pvt.) Ltd., a respected businessman and industrialist whose life was defined by hard work, integrity, humility, and dedication.
Beginning his business journey in 1955 with Afzal Machinery Store on Brandreth Road, Lahore, he developed expertise in hardware and wire mesh before expanding into specialized industrial products. He also established S. Fazal Elahi & Sons and later Tahir & Company, specializing in stainless steel products serving the healthcare, sports, and kitchenware industries.
Under his vision and leadership, United Wire Industries Group evolved into a diversified manufacturing organization specializing in industrial steel and wire products, product development, and R&D. The Group’s products have supported projects and industries of national importance, including bridges, railways, dams, silos, high-rise buildings, precast construction, automotive, fabrication, and agriculture. His efforts created employment for hundreds of people and contributed to the growth of Pakistan’s industrial sector.
Mr. Akram Sheikh was admired not only for his business achievements but also for his honesty, hardworking nature, humility, and gentle and courteous personality. He believed in building lasting relationships based on trust, quality, and commitment.
His legacy lives on through the United Wire Industries Group, the people he guided, and the industries and projects supported by his life’s work. His values, vision, and contributions will remain an enduring part of the Group’s history.
May Allah Almighty grant him the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and give his family, colleagues, and loved ones strength and patience. Ameen.
