PAKISTAN – Solar Power
Kohinoor Mills Limited has announced the successful commissioning of its remaining 2.7-megawatt renewable energy system, marking a major step forward in the Company’s transition toward cleaner and more cost-efficient power sources. This development follows its earlier disclosure dated September 16, 2025.
With this additional capacity, Kohinoor Mills Limited’s total solar energy generation at its manufacturing facility has reached 7.2 megawatts, enabling the Company to meet over 20% of its operational electricity requirements through its in-house solar photovoltaic system.
Continuing its commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency, the Management has approved the installation of an additional 3.0-megawatt solar photovoltaic system, targeted for completion before the end of the current financial year.
According to the Company, the expansion will help reduce unit energy costs, minimize exposure to grid tariff volatility, and align with national objectives by reducing reliance on imported fuels and lowering associated carbon emissions. – ER News Desk
