Zohud organized the 3rd Z-Excellence Awards at the Golf Club, Sindh Regiment Centre, Hyderabad, to honour the city’s unsung and deserving heroes who have made exceptional contributions to society through dedication, integrity, excellence, and lifelong service in their respective fields.
The prestigious ceremony brought together prominent guests, community leaders, professionals, and members of civil society, who appreciated Zohud’s continued efforts to promote merit and highlight positive role models whose work inspires meaningful and constructive contributions to society.
The Z-Excellence Awards were presented to a diverse group of distinguished personalities. Among the award recipients were Prof. Engr. Dr. Bhawani Shankar Chaudhry (SI), Professor Emeritus; Dr. Khushnud Ahmed Siddiqui, DSc (Biogenetics), former Director, Nuclear Energy (posthumous); Lt. Col. (Retd) Muhammad Khalid Khan, Director of the Hyderabad Institute of Arts, Science & Technology (HIAST); Lt. Col. Samiullah of Foundation Public School; Prof. Dr. Mirza Saleem Baig, former Head of the Urdu Department at the University of Sindh; and Dr. Fareeda Sheikh, Principal of Bakhtawar Girls Cadet College, Nawabshah.
Other honourees included renowned media professional Muhammad Amin Yousaf; Haji Muhammad Yaqoob, former President of the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries; Mr. Islam-ul-Haq, former teacher at St. Bonaventure School (posthumous); Mr. Imran and Mr. Basit, military tailors carrying a century-old legacy of service; and national-level hockey players Mr. Rizwan Tanveer and Ms. Bushra Arif.
The ceremony also received special virtual messages of congratulations from prominent Pakistani international cricketers Nauman Ali and Muhammad Hasnain, who lauded Zohud’s initiative and praised its efforts to recognize Hyderabad’s unsung heroes.
A key highlight of the event was the inauguration of books authored by Brigadier Aamer Zahid Khan (SI), adding intellectual depth and cultural significance to the ceremony.
The event was further graced by the presence of former MNA and current MPA Sabir Qaimkhani, whose participation added prestige and encouragement to the initiative.
Zohud expressed heartfelt gratitude to all award recipients, distinguished guests, partners, and supporters for making the 3rd Z-Excellence Awards a resounding success, reaffirming its commitment to continuing initiatives that celebrate excellence, service, and the true heroes of society. — ERMD
