Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has announced an increase in gas processing capacity at its Gambat South Gas Processing Facility-II (GPF-II), located in the Gambat South Block, Sanghar district, Sindh, according to a filing with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
PPL operates the Gambat South Block with a 65% working interest, alongside Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) with 25% and Asia Resources Oil Limited (AROL) holding 10%.
Commissioned in 2016 with a design capacity of 50 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) of raw gas containing 26% CO₂, the facility was previously optimized in 2021–22 to handle 55 MMscfd through operational improvements.
The company has now successfully increased capacity to 60 MMscfd, achieved through Amine sweetening process optimization by introducing a proprietary additive into the existing MDEA solvent system, without any hardware modification.
According to PPL, the enhancement has resulted in an incremental production gain of approximately 5 MMscfd of gas, 35 barrels per day of condensate, and 1 metric ton of LPG.
“This milestone reflects the Company’s commitment to operational excellence and resource maximization,” PPL stated, adding that the upgrade was achieved at minimal cost as part of its ongoing efforts to maximize domestic hydrocarbon output in a cost-effective and innovative manner.
The filing was made in compliance with Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1 of the Pakistan Stock Exchange Regulations for dissemination among members. – ER News Desk
