Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced the commencement of gas and condensate production from the Spinwam-1 discovery located in the Waziristan Block, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, under the Extended Well Testing (EWT) phase, according to a disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The company said the well has been completed in the Lockhart reservoir and is currently producing approximately 40 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) of gas along with around 200 barrels per day (BBL/D) of condensate.
With the addition of production from Spinwam-1, the early production facilities established at Shewa are now operating at full capacity. The combined output from the Shewa and Spinwam wells is expected to reach approximately 100 MMscfd of gas and 800 BBL/D of condensate.
The Waziristan Block is operated by Mari Energies Limited with a 55 percent working interest, while OGDCL holds 35 percent and Orient Petroleum Inc. holds 10 percent stake.
The development marks a significant step towards enhancing domestic hydrocarbon production and supporting the country’s energy requirements. – ER News Desk
