Children from underserved communities will gain greater access to interactive science and experiential learning through a new partnership between The Dawood Foundation’s MagnifiScience Centre and Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited’s Tameer Trust.
Under the initiative, the Tameer Trust will sponsor visits for students to the MagnifiScience Centre, providing young learners with opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) beyond the traditional classroom.
Through interactive exhibits, experiments and hands-on activities, participating students will be encouraged to understand scientific concepts through observation, curiosity and discovery. The programme aims to extend specialised science learning opportunities to children who may otherwise have limited access to such facilities.
Favad Soomro, Chief Executive Officer of The Dawood Foundation, said meaningful learning experiences could influence how young people viewed themselves and the world around them. He said the foundation sought to make science engaging and accessible to children from diverse backgrounds.
Zubair Shaikh, Chief Executive Officer of Wafi Energy Pakistan, said investing in young people was essential to Pakistan’s future. He said the partnership would help make STEM education more engaging while supporting students’ development.
Shafiq Ahmed, Trustee of The Dawood Foundation, said such collaborations would enable the MagnifiScience Centre to reach more young visitors and give them an opportunity to experience science through exploration.
The partnership agreement was signed by Shaikh and Soomro in the presence of senior representatives from both organisations, including Imran Qureshi, Director Corporate and Government Relations at Wafi Energy Pakistan, and Christoph S. Sprung, Chief Governance Officer at The Dawood Foundation.
The collaboration reflects the organisations’ shared commitment to expanding access to education and creating engaging learning opportunities for young people, particularly those from underserved communities. – ERMD
