FCCI Backs Pakistan-China AI Collaboration to Drive Digital Transformation -

The Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) has welcomed the government’s efforts to promote artificial intelligence (AI) through strategic cooperation with China, describing the initiative as a major step towards building a technology-driven and knowledge-based economy.

FCCI Vice President Engr. Asim Munir said Pakistan-China collaboration in AI would accelerate technological innovation, strengthen research and development, facilitate technology transfer, and create new opportunities for businesses, startups, academic institutions and young professionals. He noted that closer cooperation between the two countries would help Pakistan benefit from global advancements in AI while enhancing its capacity for innovation and digital growth.

He said artificial intelligence has the potential to transform key sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, education, logistics and public service delivery. According to him, wider adoption of AI would improve productivity, increase efficiency and enhance Pakistan’s competitiveness in the global economy.

Engr. Asim Munir also commended Punjab Chief Minister’s Adviser on Artificial Intelligence and Special Initiatives, Ali Mustafa Dar, for his efforts to develop a strong AI ecosystem in the province. He said Dar had promoted AI as a strategic priority by encouraging innovation, strengthening collaboration between industry and academia, supporting AI-based governance and creating opportunities for young technology professionals. He added that such initiatives would help position Punjab as a leading centre for digital transformation and emerging technologies.

The FCCI vice president further appreciated the Punjab government’s focus on digital innovation, skills development and AI-enabled governance, expressing confidence that these initiatives would attract investment, create high-value employment opportunities and strengthen the provincial economy.

He stressed that the business community was ready to support public-private partnerships aimed at accelerating AI adoption across industries. He emphasized that close cooperation among government institutions, academia, the private sector and international partners would be essential for developing indigenous AI solutions and preparing Pakistan’s workforce for the demands of the future digital economy.

Reaffirming the chamber’s commitment to technological advancement and innovation, Engr. Asim Munir expressed optimism that continued Pakistan-China cooperation in artificial intelligence would contribute to sustainable economic growth, industrial modernization and greater global competitiveness for Pakistan. – ERMD
