PAKISTAN – HVACR Society
President HVACR Society, Yousuf Hassan, said that the Society should pay greater attention to students. “I am forming a committee that will enroll students not only in Karachi but also in other major cities such as Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, etc. We will help them by providing training and assisting them in finding jobs in the industry.”
Talking to Engineering Review, he said, “We will support them in the field. Look at KSA and Dubai—there is tremendous scope in the HVACR sector, and we want our youth to build careers there. Students need proper training, just like doctors who undergo a one-year house job. I am trying to introduce a similar system for engineers as well. Engineers should complete a one-year house job, while polytechnic students should have a six-month internship. I also want our senior engineers to organize family programs, as this aspect is often neglected.”
Karachi Local Council
He added that the new leadership in Karachi should continue the initiatives of their predecessors and take them to the next level. “I will remain in close contact with the Karachi Local Council and guide them on the steps they should take next,” he said. – ER Report
