K-Electric Limited (KE) has informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) that an appellate court has suspended the operation of a civil court order in a damages suit filed by the company and has reinstated an earlier stay order in its favour.
In a notice to the PSX, KE said the disclosure is in continuation of its earlier announcements dated December 9, 2025, and the addendum issued on December 10, 2025, relating to Civil Suit No. 111 of 2023 filed by the company for damages against Syed Asad Ali Shah. The suit had earlier been transferred to the civil court.
The company said that, being aggrieved by the order of the civil court dated December 2, 2025, it filed an appeal before the district court. The appeal was taken up for hearing on December 19, 2025.
Following the hearing, the appellate court suspended the operation of the impugned order dated December 2, 2025, until the next date of hearing. The court also reinstated the earlier stay order in favour of K-Electric.
Under the reinstated stay order, the defendant has been restrained from harassing K-Electric, including through the issuance of letters or emails, the use of social media, making statements to third parties, or creating media pages to level allegations or malign the company and/or its officials.
K-Electric said it would keep the market informed of any further material developments in the matter in accordance with applicable laws and PSX regulations. – ER Web Desk
