Lucky Cement Limited has completed and commissioned a process optimisation and capacity enhancement project at its Karachi plant, increasing the facility’s annual cement production capacity by 300,000 tonnes.
In a notice, the company said the project has raised the Karachi plant’s production capacity from 5.05 million tonnes to 5.35 million tonnes per year through the optimisation and modernisation of its existing cement lines.
With the latest expansion, Lucky Cement’s total annual production capacity has increased to 15.6 million tonnes, further strengthening its position as Pakistan’s largest cement manufacturer.
The company said the project is also expected to improve operational efficiency by enhancing thermal performance, reducing specific fuel consumption and lowering coal usage per tonne of cement produced. These improvements are expected to reduce the carbon intensity of its operations while promoting more efficient use of resources.
Lucky Cement said the project reflects its long-term strategy of adopting innovative and efficient manufacturing technologies to support sustainable growth, create value for shareholders and contribute to Pakistan’s industrial development and sustainability objectives.-ERMD
