
Jam Kamal Khan has praised the successful hosting of Pakistan Rice Festival 2026 in Netherlands, saying such international trade events play a key role in promoting Pakistani exports, expanding market access, and enhancing the country’s global image.
The minister commended the efforts of Pakistan’s trade officials and said Pakistani basmati rice has become a strong symbol of the country worldwide. He noted that growing international demand for basmati is encouraging for Pakistan’s agriculture sector and exporters.
Held under the theme “From Pakistan’s Fields to Europe’s Tables,” the event attracted more than 100 importers, retailers, food experts, chefs, diplomats, and business leaders from across Europe, reflecting rising global confidence in Pakistan’s products.
Officials highlighted that Pakistani basmati rice is exported to over 100 countries and emphasized its quality, traceability, and compliance with international food safety standards. The festival also promoted stronger trade cooperation between Pakistan and the Netherlands while showcasing Pakistan’s broader export potential.-ERMD
