OGDCL’s Lundali-1 Well Starts Gas Production at 10 MMscfd

The well is currently producing 10 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) of gas at a wellhead pressure of 2,000 pounds per square inch (psi). The gas is being supplied to Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC), adding to Pakistan’s indigenous energy supply.

The Sukhpur-II Block is operated by Prime Global Energies Limited, which holds a 25% working interest. Mari Energies Limited and OGDCL each hold a 30% stake, while Turkish Petroleum Overseas Company Limited owns the remaining 15%.

The Petroleum Concession Agreement and Exploration Licence for Sukhpur-II (Block 2568-23) became effective on December 2, 2025. Following the grant of the exploration licence, the joint venture accelerated exploration and development activities, leading to the commissioning of Lundali-1.

The well was originally drilled under a previous joint venture arrangement and was subsequently brought into production by the current partnership.

The successful commissioning marks a significant milestone for the joint venture and is expected to contribute additional locally produced gas to Pakistan’s national energy supply while supporting efforts to strengthen energy security through the development of indigenous hydrocarbon resources. – ERMD
