OGDCL Starts Oil Production from Bobi Deep-1 Well in Sindh

In a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company said the development follows its announcement on June 3, 2026, regarding the oil discovery at Bobi Deep-1 from the Massive Sand of the Lower Goru Formation.

Located in the Bobi and Dhamraki Mining Lease in Sanghar District, the Bobi Deep-1 well is currently producing 2,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).

To accelerate the commercialization of the discovery, OGDCL completed the installation of a 4-inch, 1.5-kilometre flowline connecting the well to the Bobi Plant within a short period, enabling early production from the newly discovered reservoir.

OGDCL, which operates the Bobi and Dhamraki Mining Lease with a 100 percent working interest, said the achievement demonstrates its capability to rapidly monetize hydrocarbon discoveries using indigenous technical expertise and operational resources.

The company noted that the start of production from Bobi Deep-1 will contribute to increasing domestic oil supplies, reducing Pakistan’s dependence on imported crude oil, and supporting the country’s energy needs.

OGDCL is Pakistan’s largest exploration and production company, with a diversified portfolio of oil and gas assets across the country. The state-owned firm plays a pivotal role in meeting Pakistan’s energy requirements through exploration, development, and production of hydrocarbon resources.-ER News Desk
