Aptech Vision 2026 brought together students, technology professionals, startups, recruiters and industry representatives in Karachi on Saturday, creating a major platform for showcasing emerging technologies, student innovation and career opportunities.
Held at the Pearl Continental Hotel, the event combined a technology exhibition, job fair, startup activities, technical discussions and an awards programme. Aptech had announced more than 7,000 registrations ahead of the event, reflecting strong interest among students and professionals in the technology and digital economy.
Country Chief Aptech Iqbal Shaikh told Engineering Review that the programme was “growing and glowing,” with this year’s response exceeding that of last year.
“The crowd is increasing and this year it is more than last year. Though it is a challenge, we are blessed to have received an overwhelming response from youth, IT professionals and young leaders. People kept coming,” he said.
He said the objective of the event was to provide IT professionals, both young and experienced, with an opportunity to showcase their capabilities.

The event was positioned by the organisers as a platform connecting Pakistan’s technology talent with employers, entrepreneurs and industry leaders. The job fair featured recruitment partners seeking professionals for positions ranging from software development and mobile applications to digital content, social media and other technology-related roles.
A key feature of Aptech Vision 2026 was Tech Dialogue Pakistan, which focused on the changing nature of employment and the impact of artificial intelligence on Pakistan’s digital workforce.
One of the sessions, titled “Future Jobs & Aptech Intelligence (AI),” brought together representatives from Aptech and the technology industry to discuss future employment, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. The session included Atif Ali Khan, Yaseen Ali Rao, Nasreen Iqbal and Tahir Aziz, with Syeda Aeliya Naqvi serving as moderator.
The event also provided a platform for students to demonstrate software and technology projects developed during their studies. Six projects from Aptech Federal B Area were selected for the grand finale, including Fixify, LifeBlood Connect, physioLens, Last Soul, Unified Intelligence (UIX) and Type Strike, covering web and mobile applications as well as game development.
The recruitment component was designed to move beyond conventional career exhibitions. Aptech’s industry liaison team said participating employers would have access to more than 1,000 pre-screened, job-ready candidates, while more than 200 software projects were available for employers to assess students’ technical capabilities.
The organisers had also projected more than 9,000 visitors, including students, graduates, technology professionals, startups and industry leaders.
Several technology and recruitment companies participated as partners. Cybrox, HR Link, Karachi Updates, Comet Tech and other organisations were listed among the recruitment partners, while JobGenie participated as an official sponsor.

Nasreen Iqbal, owner of JobGenie, told Engineering Review that participating companies had prepared more than 500 job opportunities and were interviewing candidates who had applied through JobGenie.
“Companies have readied over 500 jobs that they finalised through applications received through JobGenie, and they are now interviewing the candidates,” she said, adding that JobGenie was a partner of Aptech Vision.
The event also featured a strong focus on entrepreneurship and the wider technology ecosystem, bringing startups and technology businesses into direct contact with students and prospective employees.
Aptech Pakistan said the exhibition was intended to create opportunities for innovation, networking, employment and entrepreneurship, while linking technology education more closely with the requirements of industry.
The organisers also welcomed Sindh Governor Syed Nehal Hashmi as the distinguished chief guest, while actor Behroze Sabzwari was announced as a guest of honour for the Tech Dialogue Pakistan programme.
The event comes at a time when Pakistan is seeking to expand its digital economy and increase employment opportunities for a rapidly growing young population. The growing emphasis on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software development and digital services is also creating pressure on educational institutions and training providers to ensure that graduates possess skills demanded by employers.
Aptech Pakistan says it has trained students in Pakistan through a network of centres offering programmes in software engineering, mobile application development, networking, software development and other IT disciplines. The organisation says its network extends to Karachi, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Sukkur, Larkana and several cities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
For the technology sector, however, the significance of events such as Aptech Vision extends beyond exhibitions and job fairs. The larger challenge is whether Pakistan can convert its expanding pool of trained young people into productive employment, technology exports, startups and internationally competitive digital businesses.
Aptech Vision 2026 attempted to bring several parts of that ecosystem together—education, students, employers, startups and technology companies—in one venue.
The longer-term test will be whether the connections made at such events translate into jobs, businesses, investment and technology products capable of competing beyond Pakistan’s borders. – ER Report
