Federal Minister for Communications Mr. Abdul Aleem Khan visited the Islamabad–Murree Expressway to inspect the ongoing development works and review the final preparations ahead of the project’s completion.
The Minister expressed satisfaction over the significant progress achieved and commended the National Highway Authority (NHA) team for successfully upgrading the Expressway to international standards. He noted that the route, which caters to hundreds of thousands of visitors traveling annually to Pakistan’s most popular hill station, has been modernized to provide a safer, smoother, and more comfortable travel experience.
Mr. Abdul Aleem Khan highlighted that the entire Expressway has been illuminated with a state-of-the-art lighting system, ensuring improved visibility and safety for travelers, especially during night hours. He further stated that Motorway Police have been deployed along the route to manage traffic flow and assist commuters, thereby strengthening overall road safety measures.

The Minister also pointed out the establishment of new, fully equipped rest areas, designed to offer modern facilities and enhance comfort for travelers.
He informed that the project is now nearing completion and will soon be formally inaugurated by the Prime Minister. Mr. Abdul Aleem Khan reaffirmed that this initiative underscores the government’s commitment to world-class infrastructure development, promotion of tourism, and public convenience. – ER News Desk
