Sindh College Education Department Orders Official Websites for All Public Colleges -

The Sindh College Education Department has directed all regional directorates, attached offices and public colleges under its administrative control to establish official websites within 30 days, warning that non-compliance could lead to administrative action.

In a circular issued by the department, authorities noted that several regional directorates and attached offices have yet to develop official websites despite the increasing importance of digital platforms for delivering public services and information.

The department said official websites are essential for promoting transparency, improving public access to information, facilitating communication, and ensuring the timely dissemination of updates to students, stakeholders and the general public.

Under the directive, the director general, regional directors, college principals and heads of all attached offices have been instructed to create and maintain websites for their respective institutions. Each website must include key information such as the institution’s profile and contact details, notifications, circulars, announcements, staff directory, organisational structure, academic programmes, admissions, available facilities and graduation fee structure.

The websites are also required to provide downloadable forms, applications and policies, a grievance redressal or feedback mechanism, governance and compliance information, and other content mandated under departmental policies and government regulations.

To support implementation, the department’s Information Technology (IT) wing will provide technical assistance on website development, hosting, security, standardisation, content migration, maintenance protocols, cybersecurity measures, and compliance with accessibility and data protection standards.

All institutions have been instructed to ensure their websites are fully operational and accessible to the public within 30 days of the order. Heads of offices must submit compliance reports upon completion, while failure to meet the deadline will be treated seriously and may result in administrative action under the applicable rules. – ERMD
